Her passion for scientific research began in Goa, India, where, during her undergraduate studies in pharmaceutical sciences, she conducted research at the National Institute of Oceanography (NIO), one of India’s leading scientific research institutions. Inspired by a family friend and neighbor who was a scientist at NIO, she developed a fascination with scientific questions and the process of using research to generate evidence-based answers.
